Packed in like sardines. But good showers and good rates....normally. We were charged full campervan rates for a converted small van and we were not able to use the power supply on site.

Lovely stop for Prague best value along that row of camperstops 450 Chez for one motorhome two adults with electric. All other facilities you need like showers water toilet dump ect for free, the owner does your laundry for a small price you will need to dry it. Easy reach of city on all forms of transport with bus stop just outside that takes you to the Zoo. Restaurants and shop nearby, site highly recommended. Wi fi good as well for free :)

I spent over two weeks at this place this year and the year before and I would like to react to bad reviews posted recently. This place is great. Its location is perfect. It's in a very green area of Prague, but it's VERY close to the city center by public transport or by car. Plus it's right by main roads and a tunnel in all directions. Look on the map. It's cheap. If you compare prices of camps in Prague, it's among the cheaper ones. There's everything a camper needs. Toilets and showers for men and women. Places to wash the dishes. Electricity, litter bins, and so on. People still complain. I have seen the owner get angry with people. This did not surprise me with what I saw people are capable of. When you behave decently there's no problem. Like a guy is complaining in a review she told him to park wherever he wanted and later got angry for where he parked his van. For whatever reason he parked it in the only place with soft soil, got stuck and ruined about 20 sq meters before he got out in the morning. It was the only spot without grass left behind where a tree was cut down recently. No mention about this in his review. There's a complaint one had to take one's shoes off when taking a shower. This wasn't outside, this was inside, right before one entered the shower. Do you normally shower with your walking shoes on? Some people clearly do. There's another complaint about toilet paper. There was enough after it got restocked. For about four hours. After that it always disappeared. She'd have to charge double to be able to make sure there was some all the time. There's a complaint about how clean the place was. It was clean after it was regulerly cleaned by the owner. For about four hours. After that there was always someone who took a shower with their shoes on or something like that. She'd have to clean after everybody all the time. Everything seems to be the owner's fault. There is one owner and 50+ guests a day. In my opinion, the owner does a decent job keeping this zoo in order. Sometimes by getting angry. But what would you do?

I wish I could leave a better review. I had a wonderful time in Prague - unfortunately not in Camp Herzog. We were travelling as a 3 (2 in car + 1 in tent). Upon arrival we were greeted by what I can only describe as an extremely regimented older lady, who evidently has a lot of built-up anger and frustration - understandable given the way tourists often act on their drunken holidays in Czech. As my 2 companions were sleeping in the car, and it is was the peak of summer, they chose to park in an area in the shade at the very end of the site (the owners back garden). She then ran over hastily and began shouting at us, telling us that we cannot park there, without any sign or forewarning. Directing us, in a manner which I can only describe as a caffeine-fuelled conductor performing Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 2, to park diagonally in the bottom-right-hand corner of the site (her garden). So under her strict guidance, we did so. During the 2nd day of our 3-night stay we decided to visit Karlstejn to hike from the Castle through to the quarries and back - which I would recommend to anyone in the area, extremely beautiful! So, as it was a 45-minute drive away we obviously took the car. Upon our return later that evening, we found that our space in the corner of the site had been taken - despite the fact we had left a number of our belongings in that space to save it. As it was a Saturday and the site (garden) had filled up to almost full. The only space left was our original place at the back, in the shade. Sunday morning we were sat in the boot of the car and looked up to find a very sour-faced hostess stood looking over us, looking at us in a very displeased manner without saying a word. Slightly confused and concerned, I asked her if she was ok and she began to shout at us - telling us we we are not to park there. I tried to explain that she had reallocated our space to another car yesterday (which had left that morning) and that there was nowhere else to park when we returned. To which she seemed very confused and she seemed to not realise we had left the site for the day. I understand a lot of people come and go and it's hard to remember everyone but she would not admit she forgot and was insisting it was our fault - this was a recurring theme through the entirety of our stay and I could see other campers felt the same way. Her sense of pride is too strong to admit she forgets anything or to say sorry about anything. FACILITIES - VERY basic - but there is everything you need to survive, so long as you don't need any luxuries. PRICE - Reasonable enough considering you are in the capital city - HOWEVER, she tried to charge us for our tiny little puppy, despite there being no listing of a charge for dogs on the price list or the website (although she sneakily tried to convince us there was) and no foremtnion in the price she wrote down for us when we arrived - so we disputed this and she eventually dropped this hidden extra charge. Would I stay here again? After checking out and being called 'problematic guests' my answer is NO. I think this campsite could go very far but the owner is unfortunately just to uptight and set in her ways. I wish this campsite (and everyone who dares to stay here) the very best of luck.

We made a reservation for 34 people (9 tents + 1 car), expecting enough space to place all of them. Upon arrival however, we were presented with a space that was completely insufficient (9 x 15 m). Any group that is looking to camp here should definitely be aware of the fact that the entire camp site is in fact the backyard of the owner's house. When confronted with the fact that we were deceived with the reservation, the owner started discussing and being angry with us, instead of acknowledging the problem. She even claimed that she had told us this on forehand (she did not). Seeing the fact that she has responded negatively to every bad review that has been posted here, I am assuming that no lessons will be learnt from this. Pity.
